Product Description

A piece inspired by a call for chamber ensemble music, it was originally
entitled "Danse Serpentine and was written for a woodwind quintet and took
the form of a sonata. Feeling that this melody called for a larger, more
extended treatment, he went back and arranged it a full concert wind
ensemble, which allowed for a more nuanced and intricate treatment.

The composer imagines sitting in a big circus tent, with flames rising from the
ring, and demons twirling about entertaining the audience with their magical
acrobatics, swirling dances, and high-flying antics. As the pieces progresses,
the central ring magically evolves throughout until the audience is suprosed
at the end to witness a full three ring circus with fantastical performances all
occurring at once, culminating in a grand finale.

Written in F Minor, this piece still resembles the sonata form, but takes some
liberties by not using any repeats, instead continuously evolving.
