"24 Preludes, Op. 28, No. 15 in D-flat major,"
familiarly known as "Raindrop Prelude,"
is one of the "24 Preludes, Op. 28" for solo piano,
completed in 1839 by Frederic Chopin (1810-1849).

It is said to have been composed on a stormy night
in 1838 on the island of Mallorca, where Chopin
was staying with his lover George Sand.

It begins with an idyllic melody, but the middle section
develops dramatically as if to express the footsteps
of dark anxiety, and at the end, a tranquil and
beautiful scene is reproduced.
