Product Description

"Santa Lucia"  is originaly  a Neapolitan song. It was translated into Italian in 1849 by Teodoro Cottrau (18271879).

The original lyrics of "Santa Lucia" celebrate the picturesque waterfront district, Borgo Santa Lucia, in the Gulf of Naples, with an invitation from a boatman to take a ride in his boat to better enjoy the cool evening.

The song is also well known in Scandinavia where it's tradionally sung on Saint Lucy's day shortly before Christmas on the darkest days in december
