The motif of this song was written after the death of the great Canadian jazz musician (flautist and saxophonist) Moe Koffman in 2001. I would like to think that it has the feel of his lovely "Swinging Shepherd Blues".
It is written for solo flute along with jazz band where all members have a chance to shine (alto sax x 2, tenor sax x 2, bari sax, trumpet x 4, trombone x 4, piano, bass, drums, guitar). Premiered by the Brock University Jazz Band in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.
