Joy in the Journey by Michael Card, arranged here in C Major by ArrangeMe.com arranger, Dina H. L. Slechta, is flexible for Three-Part Mixed Level Cello Choir, or Two Cellists with Mezzo-Soprano Vocalist, or Two-Part Mixed Level Cello Choir with Mezzo-Soprano Vocalist. The Mezzo-Soprano Vocalist Part covers a range from G3 to D5. The Cello parts are leveled to allow for players of mixed levels to play together. The Cello 1 part is playable by Suzuki Volume 6 Level or above cellists, reading treble and bass clefs. The Cello 1 part is melody except at the beginning and at the end. If using a Vocal Soloist, one may want to leave out all but the beginning and end of the Cello 1 part, or could even leave out all of the Cello 1 part. The Cello 2 part is playable by Suzuki Volume 3 Level or above cellists, reading bass clef. The Cello 3 part is playable by nearing the end of Suzuki Volume 1 Level or above cellists, reading bass clef, providing practice in reading in 3/4, slurs, ties, counting rests, and playing lower notes.
Joy in the Journey is a lovely piece to play as a Wedding Prelude. It can also be used during a Wedding Ceremony, especially with a vocalist. It also makes a great Musical Offering during a regular church service. The approximate playing time is three minutes.
