Product Description

A collection of pieces mostly focusing on staccato technique.

Happy Tappin'
A jaunty Level 3 study written to help students develop an easy chromatic technique. The RH plays short chromatic passages over an ostinato bass.

Jumping For Joy
A lively Grade 2 study in LH crossing RH. This piece requires agility, a neat staccato touch and legato pedal technique in the A Minor section. The 2nd finger is a better option for students getting their hands "tangled" in the last 4 bars.

Trick or Treatin'
A lively Level 3 study in toccata technique. Written with minimal movement out of position for either hand to help students focus on neat hand co-ordination. In the key of C Minor.

First Tango
A lively piano piece written to help students co-ordinate the Habanera rhythm. The 2 bar intro establishes the rhythmic pattern, which stays in a 5 finger position throughout the chord changes. There are sustained notes and rests in some LH bars to help students when the RH develops into broken chord and eighth note patterns.

Toccatina Frolic
This very lively Grade 3 study in G Minor focuses on toccata technique. Quick position changes are made easier with both hands playing staccato throughout.
This piece should be played in a buoyant, playful manner.

The Barn Dance Rag
A lively Grade 2, square-dance inspired rag using easy hand positions and primary triads. RH plays in a C Major 5 finger position throughout. The LH 'down-up' articulations use C, G and F Major chords. This piece should be played in a happy, buoyant manner.
