Product Description

The "Csárdás" is a typical Hungarian dance basing on folk music. But also art music has some famous examples, one of them is this csárdás from the comic  opera "Ritter Pásmán" (Knight Pásmán) by Johann Strauss jr. Its premiere was on 1 January 1892 at the Vienna Court opera. The arrangement is one half  tone lower than the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Wind Philharmonic  Mozarteum Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "Three Kings' Concert" on 6 January 2019 and broadcasted live by Austrian  television. A live recording of this concert is available at  https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/klang-der-donaumonarchie/ or https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/klang-der-donaumonarchie/hnum/10428726?iampartner=303&subid=umr19&ref=partner.jpc.de .
