Carl Michael Ziehrer was a competitor to famous Johann Strauss jr. and as last "Court Ball Music Director"of the Habsburg Empire also one of his successors. He composed more than 600 pieces and had also a very successful appearance at the world exhibition in Chicage 1893. Hist operetta "Der Schätzmeister" op. 518 (The Appraiser) premiered in Vienna on 10 December 1904. The waltz "Herrreinspaziert!", incorrectly written with three "r" instead of one to emphasize the pronounciation of a"rolling r" bacame itself very popular. The arrangement of this waltz is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra. Is was first time performed by Salzburg Wind Philharmonic conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "Three Kings' Concert" on 6 January 2023 in the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television.
