This latter-day Doobie Brothers tune (the band changed dramatically when Michael McDonald signed on) was a bit hit in 1978. It was nominated for a Grammy for Song of the Year; it lost to another Doobies tune, "What a Fool Believes." Notation here is a bit unconventional, done that way to avoid a storm of eighth rests that make it look harder to count that it really is. The quarter-note triplet feel that starts the piece shows up frequently throughout, presented that way instead of as a bunch of quarters alternating with tied eighths.
