Product Description
Rusty Toots Music presents Stock, Aitken and Waterman Re-imagined: A Suite for Symphonic Winds, a four-movement musical homage to the legacy of Britain's famous hitmakers of the late 20th century:
- Movement 1 - Love in the First Degree
- Movement 2 - I Should be so Lucky
- Movement 3 - Never Gonna Give You Up
- Movement 4 - Together Forever
The opening movement begins in true British style: a resolute solo euphonium marching a famous canon (Pachelbel's
Canon in D) into position to a distant military drum, thus establishing the predominant harmonic framework from which the remainder of the work is developed. Along with suggestions of Elgar in the brass sections, this blooms towards an exuberant arrival of the movement's title theme: Bananarama's
Love in the First Degree. As the movement develops, other classic British themes are found woven into the harmonic fabric, thereby establishing Stock Aitken and Waterman where they belong within the musical pantheon of the Sceptered Isle in a celebratory load of John Bull.
