"So What" is the first track on the 1959 album Kind of Blue by American trumpeter Miles Davis. This arrangement has the melody given to the bassoon, with help from the flute (not heard on the preview clip) and clarinet. There is a middle section where the ensemble members are given the chance to improvise - 1 or 2 people would play the bassline, and another person improvises over the bassline.

There are lots of ways to make this piece fun for everyone. Have members of the ensemble take a solo - improvisation is a great skill to have, and it will help your concert program stand out. Have the audience members participate with body percussion - snaps, pats, claps, etc. Feel free to also change the bassline, or improvise a bassline, based on the chord symbols given.
