Product Description

This tune was found among anonymous works in Gotha, Germany from the early 18th Century. British minister, writer, and hymnist John Cawood would translate & arrange it in the early 19th Century. It's based on the text from Luke 2:14 where the angels have just announce the birth of Christ to the shepherd and rejoice. A modulation to a new key occurs a few measures before section B with the help of an Italian augmented sixth chord. A descant by yours truly is then added. This Christmas piece should not be rushed.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
