Product Description

For Brass Quintet
While serving with the United States Marine Band (1963-1967?), American composer and arranger Samuel Louis Nistico composed MONTEGO BAY and dedicated it to the Officers and Men of the United States Naval School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia.
The Airmen had a special place in his heart as he had joined the United States Air Force Band (1950-1963) as a trombonist and arranged music for them.
His more than 600 compositions and arrangements covered classical, jazz and big band genres
Nestico's unique approach to composing is often likened to painting musical pictures. He viewed the musical ensemble as a palette, with tones serving as colours, and he meticulously crafted every note to bring his musical vision to life.
This setting is for a brass quintet with optional drums.  The instrumentation is for British Brass Band instruments of Cornet, Eb Tenor Horn, Treble Clef Baritone, and Eb Bass.  Alternate parts for French Horn, Bass Clef Baritone/Euphonium and Tuba are also included.
A wonderful jazzy number to add to your collection.
Duration 3:05    33 pages
Sound clip generated by Noteperformer.  Drums are tacit.
