'Eric to the Rescue' is the score for the climax scene from The Little Mermaid (1989), in which Eric battles Ursula. This is the first villain battle score from Alan Menken's extensive repertoire of Disney animated film scores. 'Eric to the Rescue' includes musical motifs from Poor Unfortunate Souls, Part of Your World, Flotsam and Jetsam, as well as The Storm, and weaves them all together in Menken's signature thematic style. The Little Mermaid (1989) score garnered Alan Menken his first 2 Academy Awards (best original score and best original song), with many more Oscar winnings to follow.

This arrangement for solo piano is a reduction of the full orchestra, and is suited for Intermediate+ pianists. Chords are marked throughout. It has some extended versions of certain themes, and fewer time signature changes than the recorded version - making it more natural to play as a solo on the piano.
