Commissioned by the Bendigo Symphony Orchestra in 2021, this piece tells the story of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and flooding events it experiences each decade or so. The music represents the dry salty lake, followed by the storm up north, the lake filling with water, the life and animals that create their home there, the water receding and a return to the dry salty lake. It is evocative and uses timbre and texture to create images in the audiences minds eye.
