This was inspired by the story of a homeless man my grandmother met in her neighbourhood when she was young. Everyone thought he was insane but my grandmother did not think so since he always carried poetry writings and artworks with him wherever he went. My grandmother befriended him and during one of their conversations on the street he told her that he spent his life writing poems, drew portraits of the women he loved, and acknowledges that life is nothing but a dream. One day this homeless man disappeared and it wasnt until a few weeks later that he was rumoured to have passed away one rainy night inside an abandoned house which was his childhood home. This piece intends to describe that mans thoughts and feelings during his final moments: his lifetime memories, his final acceptance, and true inner peace before saying goodbye to this world.
