The Jinn, from Arabian folklore are a group of beings invisible to humans with tales ranging from the magical and enchanting to the grotesque and macabre. They are shapeshifters and are neither inherently good nor evil beings. (note: "Jinn" is the modern transliteration of "Djinn"). I have always been a fan of the Arabic style of music, so I wrote the piece incorporating parts of the Arabic style, while mixing in some aspects of classical harmony. My piece aims to capture the feel of the Jinn in the form of a waltz, imagining a group of Jinn dancing to it, with the Arabian night sky as their backdrop.
