Product Description

Richard Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra is one of the most well known pieces in the world. Made famous by Stanley Kubrick's 1968 film "2001: A Space Odyssey", this arrangement for Clarinet Choir attempts to replicate the emotionally power that the orchestral version brings to the listener.

The Bass and Contrabass Clarinets in the beginning are playing the low rumbling pedal tones of the organ and low basses. Later on, the Bass Clarinet fills in for the role of the Timpani, with alternating pitches. At the very end of the piece, one player each from B-flat Clarinets 1-4 is tasked with holding the final chord longer than the rest of the ensemble, covering the Organ part in the full orchestral score.

Instrumental parts include:

* Clarinet in Eb
* Clarinet in Bb 1
* Clarinet in Bb 2
* Clarinet in Bb 3
* Clarinet in Bb 4
* Alto Clarinet
* Bass Clarinet
* Contrabass Clarinet
