This treble a cappella arrangement of the last song on Janelle Monae's Dirty Computer album embraces the duality of loving our country and critiquing it's injustices. The arrangement was created for an LGBTQ+ ensemble and seeks to challenge mysogyny and racism. Woven into the original song are themes from America the Beautiful set in a minor key to evoke the imperfection of a nation and it's citizens that continue to strive for equity. Nods to his purple majesty are included to honor his collaboration on the album.
