Product Description

Soul Limbo is the seventh studio album by the American R&B band Booker T. & the M.G.'s, released in 1968 on Stax Records. The title track is perhaps best known in the UK as the theme tune for BBC Television's cricket coverage and later for Test Match Special. It features a marimba solo by Terry Manning and cowbell by Isaac Hayes (apparently captured in one successful take!) It references the Trinidadian dance and game The Limbo, which had a surge of popularity in the United States from the mid-1950s onwards. The song makes use of a common chord progression that was featured in such 1950s and 1960s hits as "La Bamba", "Louie Louie", and "Wild Thing" and this arrangement includes an open repeat to accommodate several soloists, as well as a separate drum solo spot, as desired.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
