Product Description

1958

"If I open the Door of my Heart", this classic Taiwanese song was composed by composer Lü Chuan-sheng, with lyrics by Wang Chang-Hsiong. It was created in 1958, a time when Taiwan not only experienced the tragic 228 Incident but was also enveloped in the high-pressure rule of the Kuomintang's White Terror. The composer hoped to express nostalgia through music, infusing the melody with a strong Taiwanese folk style, and providing hope through the lyrics. Although this song was once banned by the Kuomintang government, it has still been sung by many Taiwanese singers, including famous ones like Chiang Hui, Hong Ronghong, and Feng Feifei. Furthermore, it was selected as one of the performance songs at President Tsai Ing-wen's inauguration ceremony.

I have arranged this piece for violin and piano, with a difficulty level equivalent to Grade 5 of the ABRSM.
