April Showers was first heard in a Broadway musical in 1921 and has been a favorite standard for over 100 years! Recorded by tens of artists from Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, and Carol Burnett to Bugs Bunny. The lyrics have been parodied from time to time, but when serious, they speak of hope! 
 
A modulation from G Major or Ab Major transitions from the traditional sound in verse one to more of a swing style in verse two. The piano part is sparse and simple up to that point as well.  Graded above Intermediate due to some chromatic movement as well as rhythmic and melodic variations. A confident group could perform the SATB arrangement (and possibly the three-part arrangements) a cappella.  Duration approx. 3:50. SAB is featured in the video.
