The soprano takes the melody in the first verse over an ATB drone. The second verse highlights a bass repetitive chant as the alto takes over the melody halfway through and keeps it the rest of the piece. The soprano floats a descant in the third verse as the men reprise the first-verse drone, with everyone coming together in the end, culminating in a unison final tone. Great for church choirs, holiday choruses and caroling quartets!
