Product Description

This communion song presents numerous performance possibilities. The refrain/ ostinato may be sung as a stand-alone ostinato by assembly (and/or choir), the verses may be sung on alternate statements of the ostinato in either English or Latin, instrumental parts my be added between alternate statements of the ostinato or may accompany the ostinato or verses. Sancti venite was composed at Bangor Abbey in the 7th century AD, making it the oldest known Eucharistic hymn. This hymn is attributed to St. Sechnall (d 457), otherwise known as St. Secundius, who was the nephew of St. Patrick.
