The Sinfonia is an arrangement of the preludio from Bach's Partita No.3 for Unaccompanied Violin, BWV 1006 by himself, and is re-arranged to Clarinet Octet in original key (in D). It is recommended to play this work on D Clarinet, A Clarinet 1,2,3,4, Basset Horn, Bass Clarinet, and Contrabass Clarinet, however, alternative parts of E-Flat Clarinet, B-Flat Clarinets, Alto Clarinet, or A Bass Clarinet are included. That is, if you omitted the Contra parts, it could be played in E-Flat Major by using B-Flat Clarinets and B-Flat Bass Clarinet with A Clarinet 1,2,3,4,5,6 and A Bass Clarinet parts.
