Product Description

My Prelude on the hymn tune Terra Beata ("This Is My Father's World") is intended for church pianists looking for interesting arrangements of hymns familiar to their congregations.  It is one of two settings for piano of  Terra Beata that I have written.  In this setting there are two statements of the melody.  The first places the melody in the soprano register with a repeated-note pattern serving as the accompaniment in the left hand.  The second places the melody in the bass register moving at half the previous speed and accompanied by a downward moving arpeggiation pattern played by the right hand.  The second half of the melody returns to the soprano, harmonized with 4-note chords, and accompanied by rapid downward moving scales played by the left hand.  In the final phrase, the pace slows, leading inconclusively to a chord of the 13th on G-flat at  mid-phrase, before resuming in the main key of E-flat and ending triumphantly with a repeated-note trumpet-like pattern.  I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process.  I encourage you to search the Sheet Music Plus or the Sheet Music Direct website for other hymn arrangements of mine, some for organ and others for piano.
