One of the advantages of hymn singing is being able to substitute a different melody to fit the lyrics. Hymnals normally have a metrical index of hymn meters based on the syllabic pattern and stress of the poem. Currently AURELIA is most often paired with The Churchs One Foundation.  However, it works beautifully with Another Year is Dawning. The second verse is paired here with a Welsh melody LLANGLOFFAN.
Frances R Havergal wrote the lyrics for 89 hymns including Take My Life and Let it Be, I Gave My Life for Thee, and Like a River Glorious. Another Year is Dawning was written as a poem for her New Years greeting cards.
