Product Description

Using the words of Christina Rossetti's delightful poem of the same name, this is an unaccompanied choral piece for female voices (SSAA with some divisi).  It begins 'My heart is like a singing bird whose nest is in a watered shoot' and as the voices weave together, a series of beautiful imagery is presented including apple trees, rainbow shells, peacocks, silver fleur de lys, a halcyon sea, and a dais of silk and down. Towards the end it breaks out into a joyful 'Happy Birthday' waltz, before the final climax 'The Birthday of my life!"
