This carol of the Christmas and New Year holiday season is based on a Ukrainian folksong, titled Shchedryk (The Little Swallow) and was traditionally sung in January to welcome in the New Year and the coming of Spring. It was originally arranged for choir by Mykola Leontovich (1877-1921), and it later became associated with Christmas, had new words written for it, and became popular in many different forms. 
The Janet and Alan Bullard Piano Series contains a range of arrangements for easy piano, old and new.
Janet Bullard has many years experience of teaching adults and children. Alan Bullard is a pianist, composer and arranger whose music is performed widely.
