The Little Drummer Boy, originally titled Carol of the Drum, was written in 1941 by American composer, Katherine Kennicott Davis. The song tells a fictional story of a poor boy at the Nativity of Jesus
who, without a gift to bring, performed for baby Jesus. The popular Christmas song was first recorded by the von Trapp Family Singers and further popularized by the Harry Simeone Chorale.
