Bach, from his Cantata 147 (BWV 147), Jesu, Joy of Mans Desiring, is rendered here in a setting for FLUTE (or any acceptable C Instrument), TROMBONE, ORGAN (reduction of Bachs 2nd Violin and Viola Parts; both 2- and 3-staff scores, whichever the player finds easiest to read, are provided) and S.A.T.B. Choir voices. With an organ reduction that is particularly simple, this arrangement allows for performance by almost any reasonably skilled group of church musicians and singers and may be easily adapted to other suitable C instruments such as Violin or Oboe and Bassoon or Cello. Piece may be performed with as few as seven (7) players/singers, but is enhanced with a larger ensemble and choir. A traditional favorite at Christmas time that is also appropriate any time of the year.
