Product Description

ALL PURCHASES COME WITH FULL SCORE AND SET OF PARTS.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT THE RECORDING LISTED IS OF THE FIRST MOVEMENT ONLY.

Total duration: 35 minutes.

The Septet was commisioned in 1992 by violinist and good friend, Carl Beddow, one of the work's dedicatees. The other dedicatee, Dr. John Halley, is another great friend who was especially supportive to the work's progress and who attended the world premiere on June 29th 1992 at the UCL chapel  in London.

The work has five movements and encompasses a huge range of emotions. It is highly rhythmic, melodic and also has a generous helping of punchy aggression and dissonance.

The performers were:

Violin 1 Carl Beddow, Violin 2 David Parry, Viola Edmund Barrett, Cello Laura Fairhurst, Double Bass Wendy Milanowsky (now Lambros), Flute Christina Bailey and Harpsichord Anthony Davie.
