Yukie Nishimura (), born in 1967, began her piano studies at age three, and is one of the most famous Japanese female pianists. She attended the Toho Gakuen School of Music, Tokyo, Japan and won the Yamaha Junior Original Concert Music Award. In 1986, Ms. Nishimura released her first solo album Angelique, which was followed by more than twenty albums. Her work concentrates on piano compositions, but she has also composed soundtracks for Japanese TV drama series. 'Happy You Happy Me' (sometimes translated as 'Give You Happiness') is a track from her 1995 album, Virgin. Arranged for concert band as part of an ongoing project to bring more work by female composers from around the world into the concert band repertoire.
