This 3 movement string piece in C# minor is challenging, fun, and harmonically rich. The first movement has modal and folk elements that make it seem like an east European dance. The second movement is slow and pensive and follows more of the style of the Classical tradition. The third movement, which is natural minor unlike the other two, is rhythmic and energetic.
