Product Description

It's been 52 years since the blastoff of the Apollo 11 mission, which successfully delivered humans to the  surface of the moon for the first time. Now a global race is in place to stake both national and commercial claims to the  lunar surface and to whats below and even beyond it.

Throughout history, the moon has had both a physical and a spiritual presence in our natural world. It has been a  focus of fascination. The changes that come with each passing moon have a close connection with plant and  animal life and our calendar life.

The idea that the moon has a strong effect on the human mind is ingrained in culture and lore.    "Song to the Moon" (originally called "Hymn to the Moon") portrays the moon as a powerful Goddess which provides light in the dark night. The beautiful imagery pays homage to the moon as a "deity of  secret night."  The composition should be performed as an "anthem" in a stately manner and not rushed.  *In Greek mythology, Endymion is a handsome shepherd king who was said to live in Olympia.  Youtube demo: https://youtu.be/JdjmLcJuMoM   www.gerdablokwilson.ca
