Currents is a two movement saxophone quartet that utilizes traditional forms such as sonata, along with minuet and trio. These forms are however treated more as a general format as opposed to absolute structures. The work also adapts 21st century ideas of harmony and melodic ideas which provide the audience with a melancholic and expressive musical experience.
