Taken from her fifth studio album, 'Far' (2009), "Dance Anthem of the 80's" has, since then, racked up millions of views thanks to a viral MySpace video (directed by Tom Petty's daughter, Adria Petty) and is still received well when played at live concerts, either with just piano or with other guest musicians. This quirky song is based on a short repeated motif but soon spins off into many different directions, with layers of sound cascadin over each other. Paving the way for artists such as Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift, give this a go at your next event and see how many people shout 'Solo!' along with the band! Arranged flexibly to be performed with a minimum of five woodwind, brass and string players (with some divisi) plus percussion.
