This moderately easy arrangement weds beloved Christmas carols How Great Our Joy, What Child Is This, Away in a Manger, and O Come All Ye Faithful for 2 trumpets, 2 horns in F, tenor trombone, and tuba or bass trombone. The melodies move between the trumpets, first horn and trombone for an interesting and effective voicing of the carols. Minimal preparation time or rehearsal would be required for high school or college level players. Twenty minutes before time for the presentation would be plenty of time to prepare for the presentation. The arrangement would be appropriate for a mass or worship service prelude, a recital setting, even for a gathering time before a main event during the Christmas season. The songs are arranged so that they could stand alone or be performed in a different order. Finally, the arrangements and harmonization would also work as accompaniment for carol singing.
