This short piece for solo piano is part of a collection of ten preludes written in Rome between 2008 and 2013. Like preludes 2 & 3, it was conceived in a romantic mood, tinged with longing and tenderness. In this case, I wanted to write a piece with a "catchy" theme, harmonically and formally (ABA') simple in order to make it appreciable at first listen. I fall in love (!) with this piece, especially when played by strings, and so I derived from it other pieces: Agnus Dei for SATB choir & string orchestra, Andante for string quartet and "Simple Song" for solo organ.
