Three Pieces from the Incidental Music to SIGURD JORSALFAR, Op. 56

  1. Prelude (In the Kings Hall)
  2. Intermezzo (Borghilds Dream)
  3. Homage March
Edvard Grieg (18431907)

The Norwegian composer Edvard Hagerup Grieg (18431907) wrote incidental music for Bjørnstjerne Bjørnsons play Sigurd Jorsalfar (Sigurd the Crusader) in 1872, and the score was published as opus 22 in the same year. In 1892, Grieg chose three pieces from the original score and published it as a concert suite with opus number 56.

In this transcription, the first two movements are transposed half-step up from the original keys.

This publication is for concert band with full score (pp. 135), piccoloharp (pp. 37184), and transposed parts (pp. 185257).

A printed score and the parts on CD-ROM are available for purchase at www.kasamamusic.com.
