American Heritage Suite draws on folk and spiritual songs and hymns of our nation. Each of the four movements have origial music sections juxtaposed with unique heritage musical references. Morning is the first movement. The Morning of America. Morning Trumprt and Morning Song in this movement are from the Sacred Harp or Kentucky Harmony. The traditional hymn "For the Beauty of the Earth" further enhances the uplifting image of the awe of creation. Three movements follow (sample songs) : Hills and Valleys (All the People on the Earth do Dwell) , Rives and Streams (Oh Shenandoah, The Water is Wide, Glendy Burke), Lakes and Sunsets (Now the Day is Over).
This suite is ideal for school or community bands.
