I based the level of difficulty off of the Faber Piano Adventures Method series; Primer & My First Adventures B/C.
This arrangement is for someone who just finished pre-reading music and is starting to read the staff. This version keeps the hands in one position with limited movement and basic rhythms. Adding finger numbers is suggested till they can identify the other notes on the staff.
Why this version?
Too many times you see difficulty labeled as for "beginner" but it's actually for advanced beginners who know more than basic rhythms, hand placements, and finger movements. I hope this helps give your truly beginning student a chance at playing fun songs.
