Product Description
The Micro Suite consists of four small and contrasting
movements. They are small tableaus about a day in the
countryside inspired by Latin American rhythms.
The first number, the morning, is built from a perpetual
movement. The day begins and this movement opens this
miniature suite with energy and effusiveness.
The second number refers to the nap time. It is of meditative
and idyllic character, it is based on a rhythm of the Argentine
folklore called Vidala. It is an expressive and singable
movement as the musical genre in which it is inspired.
The third one has a more danceable character. It has a jovial,
whimsical and festive style. It is the night in which the people
gather to celebrate the labors of the day and share music
and dance.
Finally, the work ends with an enigmatic fourth movement:
the dawn, when the day's celebrations are over. The night
with its murmurs and sounds floods the landscape.
This Micro Suite was composed for The Northern California
Viola Society to whom I am deeply grateful for the
recognition given in the competition organized in 2021-
2022.
