This arrangement of Simple Gifts is suitable for weddings and performances. It opens with a cello solo. The viola joins for a short duet before the other parts come in. The arrangement builds with the second violin and first violin each playing melody in the second statement of the theme.  The development has the upper strings in a fugue.  The final statement of Simple Gifts is over a quote from Bach's cello suite in G major.
