Product Description

Written in 1918 while Russian immigrant Irving Berlin was serving in the Army, God Bless America was revised and introduced to the nation by Kate Smith in a 1938 Armistice Day radio broadcast. It has remained an anthem of national hope ever since.
And, although the relentless pace of radio and other media has not been a friend to its original Broadway style introduction, even Wikipedia recognizes the song as taking the form of a prayer for Gods blessing and peace.
While its original sheet music edition was not particularly inviting to play, this arrangement will make it far more accessible to singer and accompanist alike, while preserving both the original key for group singing and the unique introduction that settles the question of whether it is merely a sincere wish or a heartfelt prayer.
