This utterly charming music is a delight to hear, as well as to perform.  Suitable for players of all levels, it could be used to entertain family and friends, as a calming interlude in a challeging program of a seasoned player or as a short recital piece for an inexperienced one.  It is also an effective unaccompanied lullaby at Baptisms.  The composer was a distinguished violinist and the undated manuscript* suggests that this piece was intended for violin and piano but never published.
