Product Description
Title Song from the Broadway Musical, Do I Hear A Waltz? by Richard Rodgers & Stephen Sodheim. Arranged for SATB, One Piano, Four Hands, Optional Dancing Couple.
Accompaniment track (MP3) available free from the arranger at AAR@prodigy.net
Performance Notes: Singers, you will capture the exuberance of this music by maintaining a rhythmic delivery while singing every phrase molto legato and well arched. Adjust the dynamics of each phrase so it projects the emotion of that moment. Know the plot, and be a story teller!
Remember:
If you sing only the notes and the words, you are a novice,
If you sing the notes and the words with your head, you are a craftsman.
If you sing the notes and the words with your head and your heart, you are an artist!
Pianists, you will project an exciting and crisp accompaniment by observing the dynamics, staccato notes, and using the pedal sparingly, if at all. In this arrangeent for piano and voice, you, the pianists, are equal partners with the singers, and more than just accompanists. You also paint part of the musical picture with your dynamics, embellishments, harmonic and rhythmic support of the melody, and technical brilliance.
As an additional enhancement, the piano interlude, can include an optional Dancing Couple. Entry, exit, bows, and key points for the couple are marked in the score.
