Product Description

Christmas Party is a medley of 3 Christmas songs arranged by Otniel Simangunsong. The three Christmas songs often heard by ordinary people are The First Noel, Jingle Bells, and Santa Claus is Comin' To Town.
The first song is 'The First Noel' which is a traditional 18th Century French Melody song. "The First Noel" is of Cornish origin. Its current form was first published in Carols Ancient and Modern (1823) and Gilbert and Sandys Carols (1833), both of which were edited by William Sandys and arranged and edited by Davies Gilbert (who also wrote extra lyrics) for Hymns and Carols of God. Nowell is an Early Modern English synonym of "Christmas" from French Noël, "the Christmas season", ultimately from Latin natalis [dies] "[day] of birth".
The second song is 'Jingle Bells'. "Jingle Bells" is one of the best-known and most commonly sung American songs in the world. It was written in 1850 by James Lord Pierpont (18221893) at the Simpson Tavern in Medford, Massachusetts. It was published under the title "The One Horse Open Sleigh" in September 1857. It has been claimed that it was originally written to be sung by a Sunday school choir for Thanksgiving, or as a drinking song.
The third song is 'Santa Claus is Comin' To Town'. "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" is a song recorded by Harry Reser and His Band. It is a Christmas song featuring Santa Claus written by J. Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie.

In this arrangement, Otniel Simangunsong does not only combine the three songs in the order of the first, second and third songs. In a certain part, namely at the end of the song, Otniel Simangunsong combines the three songs to be sung simultaneously with the accompaniment of applause and Christmas bells. This song has a unique dynamic, in which Otniel Simangunsong wants the choir singing it to invite the entire audience to sing along and the singers must help convince the audience that the joy of Christmas is with them. In this arrangement, the singers should show an attitude that encourages the audience to dance and sing, and there are times when the singers tell stories about the atmosphere of Christmas. With this excitement, Otniel gave the title of this arrangement, 'Christmas Party'.
