Product Description

The Messe à trois voix (Mass for three voices) is a setting of the Ordinary of the Mass for three voices (SATB) by César Franck. It was composed between 1855 and 1859 and first performed in 1860. The work is scored for SATB chorus and organ, and is divided into six movements.

The fifth movement is Panis Angelicus and is one of Franks much loved works. The piece is based on a Latin text that is part of the Catholic Mass, and it is characterized by its simple, hymn-like melody and its rich harmonies.

Here is an arrangement for string quartet.

The PDF file contains the score and instrumental parts.
