Product Description

Scherzo for Double Bass and String Orchestra/String Quartet  Tembo

The bass instruments are sometimes overlooked when it comes to solo repertoire so Tembo is a fun piece designed to feature the bass.

Tembo is an African word for elephant and this piece was inspired by the famous bass solo The Elephant from Saint-Saëns Carnival of the Animals

This arrangement for bass and string orchestra/string quartet allows the bass to shine over the whole range of the instrument in a playful way as indicated by the term Scherzo.

Parts included in the download:

D. Bass soloist
1st Violin
2nd Violin
Viola
Cello
D. Bass (optional)

(The arrangement is also available as a D. bass/bassoon/tuba solo with piano accompaniment)
